Almond oil, Amygdalus communis –
This nutritious oil is rich in vitamin E and has a multitude of uses in skin care, from calming inflamed skin to evening skin tone and delaying the appearance of wrinkles. It is commonly used for massage, as it restores the skin to its natural pH and supports a healthy glow. Helps skin retain moisture.
Apricot kernel oil, Prunus armeniaca –
Known to be excellent for mature skin, due to its emollient, nourishing, and revitalizing properties. It is high in vitamin E and generally recognized as being very soothing to irritation and supports the barrier function of the skin.
Avocado oil, Persea gratissima –
This nutritional powerhouse is full of vitamins A, B, and E, proteins, and amino acids. It has been known to support and increase collagen content in the skin, helping to prevent age spots and skin weakening, while calming inflammation and regenerating tissues. This oil is excellent for those with sensitive, damaged, or aging skin, and skin conditions.
Castor oil, Ricinus communis–
Also called Palma Christi, or “hand of Christ”, this soothing oil has been used all over the world for over 4,000 years. It is 90% ricinoleic acid, which makes it very hydrating and increases its ability to penetrate the skin and deliver nutrients into the body by external application. It has historically been known to increase immune function and minimize scarring when used in treatments for skin trauma.
Coconut oil, Cocos nucifera –
Full of saturated fats that keep skin smooth to the touch and also help to eliminate the loss of moisture through the pores. Its lauric acid content makes it a strong antibacterial and antimicrobial. This oil is also high in vitamin E and proteins, which are essential for healthy skin growth and the regeneration and protection of weakened, damaged, or aging skin.
Jojoba oil, Simmondsia chinensis –
Born of a drought-resistant plant, this oil has an exceptional ability to control water loss and is considered regenerative, restructuring, and toning. Jojoba dissolves easily with the skin’s natural oils. In its native Mexico, indigenous peoples have used jojoba extracts for treating skin conditions, sores, cuts, bruises, and burns.
Olive oil, Olea europaea –
Oleic acid makes up 70% of this oil, which supports the natural breathing process and sebum production of the skin. This oil also helps to keep the skin lubricated, protected, prevents water evaporation from the pores, supports the delivery of oxygen to the cells, and removes waste from the skin. Soothing and conditioning to dry and sun-damaged tissues.
Palm oil, Elaeis guineensis –
Palm oil is used for cooking and skin care in its native Africa. This oil’s fatty acids are known to reinforce, support, and protect the cutaneous layer of the skin. It also contains nutrients known to promote cell regeneration.
Palm kernel oil, Elaeis guineensis –
This oil is pressed from the kernels of the African oil palm, and has a higher saturated fatty acid content than the oil pressed from the fruit. It contains high levels of lauric acid, similar to coconut oil, and is very moisturizing and nourishing for the skin.
Rice bran oil, Oryza sativa –
This protective oil contains potent antioxidants and squalene, an important element of our skin’s lipid production. High in vitamins B and E, and wonderful natural emollients that help to keep skin hydrated.
Sunflower oil, Helianthus annus –
Contain vitamins A, D, and E. Studies have shown that this oil supports the skin’s natural barrier functions.
Avocado butter, Persea gratissima –
Contains vitamins A, B, and E, which are all excellent for the health of your skin. Tones, moisturizes, reduces wrinkles, and leaves your skin feeling silky smooth.
Cocoa butter, Theobroma cacao –
Traditionally used during pregnancy to prevent and repair stretch marks, this butter prevents moisture loss by leaving a fine, nourishing barrier on the skin.
Mango butter, Mangifera indica –
Known to be very skin nourishing and antioxidant-rich. High amounts of vitamin C enable mango butter to moisturize, repair, and revitalize skin layers. Considered to have anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties.
Shea butter, Vitellaria paradoxa –
In its native Africa, shea butter is known to moisturize and maintain skin’s elasticity, while being particularly protective against the elements. Rich in vitamins, minerals, and other nourishing compounds for the skin and body. Demonstrates properties that help with circulation and the oxygenation of tissues, which may clear the skin by removing waste.
Black pepper, Piper nigrum –

Although in recent history this plant has become an herbal sensation among the general public it is being over harvested so we want to act responsibly and include it only in a soap that needs its special anti bacterial properties for infected spider and insect bites.
Gotu Kola Infusion
Wound healing, it is thought to speed up collagen production and the laying down of new blood vessels, seems to increase anti-oxidant levels within a wound in the early stages of repair
Healing, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, bruising, prevents infections to open skin
Although I use Hops in sleep pillows because of its sedative properties , I like to incorporate the infusion into a “relaxing , calming “ evening bathtime soap.

Lemon Balm Infusion
Healing of wounds, soothes cold sores, shingles
A great remedy for respiratory conditions and although in soap it more for the breathing in of the herb as we bath and because our bodies do absorb a high percentage of what we put on it, up to 60% through the skin, there may be benefits to the whole system.
Bee stings, spider bites, draws poisons out of an infection although when using in a soap it has cooling and moist properties and cleansing of damaged skin.
Rose Bud Infusion
Roses are midly sedative and anyi-inflammatory but I choose this infusion more for inducing perhaps a romantic bath with your lover!! The scent of roses are heady and calming to the soul.
St John’s Wort Infusion
Bring relief from painful and infected nerves such as cold sores and shingles, rashes, burns and wounds
Willow Bark Infusion
The bark of this tree has a multitude of uses in skin and body care. It is probably most well known as "nature's aspirin" because it contains salicylic acid, which makes it great for soothing aches and pains in the body. It is also soothing to the skin, astringent, and a natural exfoliator that is particularly well-suited to troubled skin and clogged pores. The presence of phenolic acids, minerals, and tannins make it very rejuvenating addition to your skin care regimen.
Vitamin B2, and E; prevents acne, blackhead, prickly skin; milk disinfectant for wounds; provides glow
Rich in vitamin C, E, A; highly moisturizing; good for sunburns; improves skin elasticity; soothes symptoms of dermatitis, eczema and irritated skin
Cow’s milk (whipping cream)
Very moisturizing, improves complexion, excellent cleanser
Contains alpha hydroxyl acids, which help remove dead skin cells; high in vitamin A, which repairs damaged skin; reduces lines and wrinkles; very moisturizing
